Day 6 - White Knuckles

Today we left ABQ to head to Durango.  Winds were again very high and the truck was once again pulled and pushed around by the high gusts.  It was very stressful for both of us, but Kevin especially.  The truck has the motor to pull the camper, but it's only a 1/2 ton so the rear doesn't have the "umph" to hold it all together.  There is a air system Kevin has been researching to put on the rear axle, hopefully we can find someone that can get it to us before we leave Durango.

The ride to Durango was beautiful and I managed a few photos.

Anyway, we finally made it to our campsite at Junction Creek and happily made camp and had a drink!  The campsite is nestled up in the mountain, trees and birds everywhere (heaven to me), chipmunks galore, and Hummingbirds. Kevin offered to go get some hummingbird feeders tomorrow.

We made it an early night since we were both exhausted.
