Kevin got up early and went to town and got the hummingbird feeders. Before we knew it we had 9 hummers visiting. And we are able to get just a few feet from them - they have no fear and are very curious. The cushions on our lawn chairs and bright flowers - they really checked them out.
Next we got the bikes out and went riding! There was a gravel mountain road that went up to a lookout area. We rode the 8 miles up to it, bikes doing very well, and enjoyed the views. Dust was horrible, thank goodness for full faced helmets. We left the lookout and traveled a few more miles up heading to an old abandoned mine. Unfortunately the road got VERY rough and neither of us wanted to chance it, so we turned around and went back to camp and Nikki. We changed out of our adventure motorcycle gear and jumped back on the bikes to ride to Lemon Lake. We saw a Bald Eagle, a Red Tailed Hawk put on a show above us, and I found the biggest paw print I've ever seen. Kevin took photos of it so we can identify if. I want to say it is a Mountain Lion print. It didn't look anything like a canine print. We also saw signs of Elk in the area. There was Fool's Gold everywhere there also. It was a great road we traveled on - lots of curves and no one in front of us to hold us back. GREAT ride!
After exploring the lake some, we headed back to camp again for the evening.
Kevin found the parts to beef up the read end of the truck!! An RV facility is ordering it for us and it should be here by end of day Friday!! Kevin is confident this will cure the swaying we experience in high winds and when large vehicle pass us. I sure hope so!!!
I will try to upload a video of part of our ride today so you can get the idea about how bad the dust is.
